OPEN CALL: JÓLASÝNING
Wild horses Gallery invites artists to submit works for our upcoming group exhibition, JÓLASÝNING 2026.
Opening: Thursday, 3 December 2026, 17:00–20:00
Exhibition dates: 3 December 2026 – 4 January 2027
*Jólasýning means Christmas Exhibition in Icelandic. Many Icelandic galleries have made it a tradition to host a group exhibition around the holidays, encouraging people to give art as Christmas presents and bring original works into their homes.
There is no specific theme for the exhibition. 
We welcome submissions of smaller works that are ready to display and can be purchased as gifts. Please note that sold works may be taken home by the buyer immediately, meaning your work may not remain on display for the entire exhibition.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Artwork format: Works must be ready to hang on a wall or sit on a small shelf. Wall-hung works must be framed or equipped with a hanging system.
Maximum size: 40 × 50 cm, including the frame.
Number of works: Up to 3 works per artist.
Eligibility: Artists based in Europe only.
Submission fee: 50 DKK per application. The fee is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of your application.
HOW TO APPLY:
Please email your application to gallery@wildhorsescph.dk with the subject line OPEN CALL.
Your application must include:
Your preferred artist name
High-resolution images of your submitted work(s).
For each work: title, year, medium and dimensions.
Proof of payment.

DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORKS:
All works must be physically delivered to Wild Horses Gallery no later than Monday, 30 November 2026, before 17:00.
Artists are responsible for all shipping costs to and from the gallery.
Artists are responsible for insuring their works during transit and for the duration of the exhibition.
Works must be properly packaged to allow for safe return shipping if unsold.
We cannot provide frames or print submitted works. All works must arrive physically ready for display.
Please only submit work you can ensure will arrive by the delivery deadline. Late deliveries may not be included in the exhibition.
SELECTION AND DOCUMENTATION: 
All applicants will receive a response after the submission deadline has passed.
Exhibition documentation will be shared with all participating artists.
